EAA Letter of Appreciation

Letter from Paul

EAA recently sent us a letter from EAA founder, Paul Poberezny, thanking us for our recent donation to help meet the Burgher Challenge. Our chapter name will be inscribed on one of the brown bricks at the entrance to AirVenture, along with others. Click on the thumbnail above to read the letter.

The Adventures of Eddie

Eddie Price

Eddie Price is our chapter's version of Indiana Jones ... with a baseball cap. He is also our chapter photographer.
Many of the photos featured in this website were taken by him.  He loves to "show and tell" about his adventures in a 1950 Cessna 140A ... his own personal "magic carpet" to adventures to exotic and distant places. He has made quite a few new friends too during his exploits. Click on the thumbnail above to see photos of one of his recent journeys.

Student Pilot Progress

Kevin Wallace

Chapter members, Kevin Wallace (shown above) and Steve Cromer are student pilots working on their private pilot licenses (PPL). Kevin soloed on December 15, 2010 and made a dual cross country flight with his instructor on February 2, 2011 from Aiken Municipal Airport (KAIK) to Washington-Wilkes County Airport (KIIY) in Georgia.  Steve Cromer has recently gotten his medical certificate after adjusting some medications and reported that he made a recent cross country flight also. Keep up the good work, guys. We're all anxious to see you get your PPL.

Neil & Millie's Culver Cadet Project

Neil & His Culver Cadet     Mille with Culver Cadet

Neil Deye is our chapter technical advisor, and Millie Hoemer is our Young Eagles coordinator. They are jointly working on the Culver Cadet shown above in their hangar at Gilbert Airpark (SC45). The bright yellow paint scheme is now finished complete with new black accent decals. Neil says that he hopes to have it completed in early summer. In fact, Neil has agreed to make a presentation to chapter members on their project this coming summer, probably at our June meeting.

Chapter Shirts & Hats

Chapter Shirt Logo     Chapter Hat (Navy Blue)

Our chapter shirt and hat orders are completed and have been delivered. They look great! The logo and text are shown on the shirt and hat above. Payments have already been received for most of them. In fact, most us who have them wore them for a group photo at our February 20th meeting. Left click the thumbnails above to enlarge.
